Mac OS 9 & IE.... loading menu very long
Hi Folks,
we've installed the menu on our website
[link to commercial product removed by admin]
We're running a script to detect browser and OS and load the stylesheet for each version.
On Mac OS9 with IE5.2 the browser loads the page, then hangs (querying menu_tpl.js).... for about 10-15 seconds, then loads the entire page correctly
with then menu. in case we're not using frames, this happens each time (going to another subsite of our website).
Can anybody help (say me, what to check). I'm not that stupid in scripting :-)
Thx

IE speed on Mac
I also see the long pause you talk about on (on my own site that has quite a large menu with innerHTML)
IE 5.2.3 MacOSX 10.2.6, 1.2Hgz G4, 1GB ram
The pause is a good 15 seconds even on this mac...the pause is not there when using Safari.
Any thoughts on any speed tips to apply SoftComplex?
(EDIT: It seems to be very much related to how many items are defined in the cascading tree...my smaller trees are substantially quicker)
Cheers
Dale
